Kevin James Ahrens went 1 for 1 and scored a run in the Dunedin Blue Jays's 6-2 loss at the St. Lucie Mets on Thursday. Ahrens graduated from Houston Memorial High School.
Ahrens is a 2007 graduate of Memorial High School and was named a first-team high school all-American left fielder as a senior (2007). He was a first-round draft pick (16th overall) of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. He was named the Blue Jays third-best prospect in 2008 and the sixth best in 2009, both by Baseball America. Through 2010, he was a career .239 hitter with 21 home runs and 142 RBIs. Ahrens was born April 26, 1989 in Houston.
