Pro Baseball: Kevin James Ahrens, Dunedin Blue Jays

Kevin James Ahrens went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and scored a run in the Dunedin Blue Jays's 5-0 loss to the Lakeland Flying Tigers on Wednesday. Ahrens graduated from Houston Memorial High School.

Ahrens is a 2007 graduate of Memorial High School and was named a first-team high school all-American left fielder as a senior (2007). He was a first-round draft pick (16th overall) of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. He was named the Blue Jays third-best prospect in 2008 and the sixth best in 2009, both by Baseball America. Through 2010, he was a career .239 hitter with 21 home runs and 142 RBIs. John Allen Link Released

John Allen Link was released from custody, according to the Harris County Sheriff‘s Office. Link is listed as living at 15135 Memorial 121 in Houston. Bond for Mr. Link was set at $10,000. He was reportedly arrested on March 28, 2011 on 2 charges, including theft between $1,500 and $20,000 and possession of a penalty group 1 controlled substance (1 to 4 grams). Read more...

Montgomery County District Court criminal felony indictments, June 30

The Montgomery County district clerk reported the following criminal felony indictments Thursday, June 30:

Neil Kurtis Devoe was indicted in the 9th District Court on a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

Devoe is 32 years old, and resides in the 10373 N. Sam Houston Parkway No. 339, Houston.

The alleged offense reportedly occurred Saturday, Feb. 20.

Guy L. Womack is Devoe's attorney.



Benjamin Todd Wotkyns was indicted in the 9th District Court on a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

Wotkyns is 33 years old, and resides in the 3918 Rock Springs, Houston.

The alleged offense reportedly occurred Saturday, Feb. 20.

A Houston woman was arrested and charged with theft by check between $50.00 and $500.0 on June 30, 2011, the Harris County Sheriff's Department reported.
