Aaron M. Thompson pitched five innings, striking out three and allowing three earned runs Wednesday in the Altoona Curve's 7-3 loss at the Trenton Thunder. Thompson graduated from Second Baptist High School.

Thompson is a 2005 graduate of Second Baptist High School and a first-round selection (22nd overall) of the Florida Marlins in the 2005 Major League Baseball draft. He signed with Marlins and is currently property of the Pittsburgh Pirates pitching for Altoona in the Eastern League (AA). The son of former Major League all-star and Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens, he is a 2005 graduate of Memorial High School and an eighth-round (254th overall) selection of his hometown Houston Astros in the 2005 Major League Baseball draft.From 2005 to 2010, Clemens appeared in 605 games in the Astros' system making it as high as Double-A Corpus Christi of the Texas League. Through 2010, Clements was a career .270 hitter with 79 home runs and 378 RBI. In 2009, Clemens was named California League all-star catcher, high-A all-star DH and the Astros' minor league player of the year after hitting .345 with 45 doubles, six triples, 22 home runs and 121 RBIs for Lancaster. Kevin James Ahrens went 1 for 4 in the Dunedin Blue Jays's 5-0 loss to the Palm Beach Cardinals on Wednesday. Ahrens graduated from Houston Memorial High School.

Ahrens is a 2007 graduate of Memorial High School and was named a first-team high school all-American left fielder as a senior (2007). He was a first-round draft pick (16th overall) of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. Ahrens began his pro career in 2007 with the Blue Jays' rookie team of the Gulf Coast League. Over the next three years (2008 to 2010) Ahrens advanced to high single-A Dunedin of the Florida State League. He was named the Blue Jays third-best prospect in 2008 and the sixth best in 2009, both by Baseball America. Through 2010, he was a career .239 hitter with 21 home runs and 142 RBIs.
