The son of former Major League all-star and Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens, he is a 2005 graduate of Memorial High School and an eighth-round (254th overall) selection of his hometown Houston Astros in the 2005 Major League Baseball draft. In 2009, Clemens was named California League all-star catcher, high-A all-star DH and the Astros' minor league player of the year after hitting .345 with 45 doubles, six triples, 22 home runs and 121 RBIs for Lancaster. Benjamin Davis Theriot went 2 for 3 with one RBI in the Northwest Arkansas Naturals's 5-4 loss to the Frisco RoughRiders on Thursday. Theriot graduated from Houston Westside High School.

A 2006 graduate of Westside High School, Theriot played three seasons (2007 to 2009) at Texas State. He batted .295 with one home run and 14 RBIs for the Bobcats as a freshman, 2007, before hitting .339 with three home runs while driving in 45 runs as a sophomore, 2008. In 2009, Theriot batted .341 with six home runs and 36 RBIs as a senior. He was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the ninth round (272nd overall) of the 2009 Major League Baseball draft. He quickly advanced through the Royals' system beginning 2010 at Burlington of the Midwest League (A) before advancing to High-A at Wilimington of the Carolina League and ending the year at Double-A with NW Arkansas of the Texas League. Ahrens is a 2007 graduate of Memorial High School and was named a first-team high school all-American left fielder as a senior (2007). He was a first-round draft pick (16th overall) of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. He was named the Blue Jays third-best prospect in 2008 and the sixth best in 2009, both by Baseball America. Through 2010, he was a career .239 hitter with 21 home runs and 142 RBIs.
