Pro Baseball: Kevin James Ahrens, Dunedin Blue Jays

Kevin James Ahrens pitched two innings, striking out two and allowing no earned runs Thursday in the Dunedin Blue Jays's 8-3 loss to the Clearwater Threshers. Ahrens also went 1 for 3 in the game. Ahrens graduated from Houston Memorial High School.

Ahrens is a 2007 graduate of Memorial High School and was named a first-team high school all-American left fielder as a senior (2007). He was a first-round draft pick (16th overall) of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. He was named the Blue Jays third-best prospect in 2008 and the sixth best in 2009, both by Baseball America. Through 2010, he was a career .239 hitter with 21 home runs and 142 RBIs. Ryan Lollis went 0 for 4 in the San Jose Giants's 5-3 loss to the Stockton Ports on Thursday. Lollis graduated from Houston Christian High School.

Lollis is a 2005 graduate of Houston Christian and a 20th-round selection (601st overall) of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2005 Major League Baseball draft. Lollis did not sign with the Pirates and accepted a baseball scholarship to the University of Missouri. He appeared in 217 games over four seasons (2006 to 2009) for the Tigers batting .309 in his college career with nine home runs and 164 RBIs. Lollis was drafted for a third time in 2009 this time by the San Francisco Giants, who took him in the 37th round (1,107th overall) Lollis began his pro career in 2009 appearing in 52 games for Salem-Kaizer of the Northwest League (short-season single-A) batting .312. Graham H. Godfrey pitched eight innings, striking out two and allowing one earned run Thursday in the Sacramento River Cats's 8-2 loss at the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Godfrey graduated from Houston Memorial High School.

Godfrey is a 2003 graduate of Memorial High School. He played baseball for the College of Charleston where as a junior (2006) he went 8-2 with a 3.57 ERA in 16 games (15 starts) striking out 101 in 98.1 innings. Salvador Aguerre arrested on charge of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age

A Houston man is facing a state felony charge of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age after being arrested on June 11, the Harris County Sheriff's Office reported. Salvador Aguerre, 32, resides at Gessner. He was booked on June 11. Read more...

Moses Benjamin Foster Jr. was arrested by the Harris County Sheriff on charges of driving without a texas operator's license and failure to maintain financial responsibility by obtaining insurance, the Harris County Sheriff's Department reported.
