Virtuosi holds annual concert and dinner

Virtuosi of Houston recently raised funds and honored philanthropists during its 15th Anniversary Gala and Dinner.
The event, titled "Virtuosi Encore 15: Honoring Houston's Music Philanthropists, an Evening of Memories and Music," raised $210,000 to benefit Virtuosi's education and financial assistance programs for young musicians.
During the gala, the following philanthropists were awarded engraved Tiffany crystal plates for their financial support of Houston's classical music community: Monzer Hourani, Margaret Alkek Williams, Donna and Robert Bruni, Barbara and Ulyesse LeGrange, Nidhika and Pershant Mehta, Mary Kay and Michael Poulos, and Phyllis and Cornel Williams.
The Virtuosi orchestra's 16 graduating seniors were also honored that evening, including Anne Barkley, The High School for Performing Arts; Kevin Cho, James E. Taylor High School; Ellen Crane, Katy High School; Colleen Crossley, Jersey Village High School; Cesar Dominguez, Katy High School; Michael Ehrenkranz, Strake Jesuit College Preparatory; Laetan Gaspard, Jersey Village High School; Simon Lee, Strake Jesuit College Preparatory; Reshena Liao, St. John's School; Michelle Nguyen, Jersey Village High School; Robert Oldroyd, Cinco Ranch High School; Jeremy Reynolds, homeschooled; Katie Sampels, Katy High School; Dillon Philip Shindler, Memorial High School; and Mark Stewart, Cypress Creek High School, according to the press release.
