Executive chef joins staff of Forum at Memorial Woods
The Forum at Memorial Woods recently welcomed chef Garrett Lucas as the full-service retirement community’s new executive chef. Residents of The Forum can now look forward to excellent, healthy dishes every meal with Lucas directing the kitchen.
“The Forum at Memorial Woods is proud to welcome chef Garrett Lucas as our new executive chef,” said Karen Mawyer, of The Forum at Memorial Woods.
Lucas comes to The Forum with many years of experience as the head chef of some of the finest retirement communities in Texas.
Lucas’ love for cooking began at an early age and continued even after high school, when he attended culinary school. After graduating from the Remington Culinary College, where he graduated at the top of his class, Lucas was tapped to join the Four Seasons Hotel and Resort team in Dallas.
He admits that food is a passion for him. Lucas noted that not only is the food preparation and presentation important to his making sure the customer is satisfied, but it also plays a major role in his overall joy of cooking.
In his spare time, Lucas is a camp counselor, as he volunteers with the Epilepsy Foundation of Texas, where he assists young adults and teens with special needs.
He also enjoys spending time with his fiancée, Ashley, and their dog Marigold, often with a good book and a fine cigar.
