Resident of The Forum uses on-site health care services to help get back on her feet

Short-term inpatient stays on-site have allowed independent living residents to get back to wellness.

Soon-to-be-98-year-old Betty Caldwell enjoys independent living at The Forum at Memorial Woods.

Thanks to on-site health care services, both inpatient care and outpatient rehabilitation, Caldwell is quickly bouncing back after breaking a bone in her back.

“I am lucky to live in The Forum and have health care right here. When I needed round-the-clock care for seven weeks, I didn’t have to ship out somewhere else,” Caldwell said. “It was great to have access to my apartment and my things. I even got my phone transferred to my hospital room here.”

Now back in her apartment, Caldwell sees on-site Forum therapists as she regains her strength.

“I now go to lunch and dinner,” she said. “I couldn’t do it without the wonderful therapists here.”

Caldwell, who used The Forum’s rehabilitation services a few years back for a broken ankle, praised the on-site health care providers.

“The staff is wonderful,” she said. “Having these services at home at The Forum has been handy and worth it.”
