HS girls basketball preview: Memorial v. Dawson

Memorial hosts Dawson in high school girls basketball action today.

Dawson is 6-7 on the season, coming off a 59-57 loss to La Porte on Tuesday.

Rachel Rhodes, a 5-foot, 4-inch junior forward, is leading the team in both assists and steals with 20 of each. She also has hit 19 of 20 free throws on the season.

Memorial is 4-7 on the season and 1-0 in district play after beating district rival Morton Ranch 54-31 on Tuesday.

Ellen Anderson, a 5-foot, 9-inch junior guard, is averaging 16.6 points a game to lead her team.

Today’s tip-off is slated for 4 p.m.
