HS girls basketball preview: Stratford v. Magnolia West

District 17-4A rivals Magnolia West and Stratford will take to the court in girls high school basketball action on Friday.

On the season, Magnolia West is 6-9 and 1-2 in district play. The team is coming off a 54-12 win over Northbrook in its last game.  

In her senior year, Chelsey Koening is averaging seven points per game for the team.

Magnolia West will next visit Spring Woods on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Stratford is 6-13 on the season and 2-1 in district play. The Spartans are coming off a 48-42 win over Spring Woods on Tuesday.

Senior guard LaShae Crews is averaging 12.3 points per game to lead her team.

The Spartans will next visit Waller on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Friday’s tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
