Kinkaid tennis star Nayrayna to play at Columbia next year
The Kinkaid School senior and nationally ranked No. 46 boys tennis player Ashok Nayrayna is committed to play at Columbia University in New York next year.
The 5-foot, 10-inch Falcon is also ranked No. 5 in Texas by Tennis Recruiting Network and captured the boys 18s title at the 2010 Texas Open in Arlington dropping only one set during six matches.
Nayrayna recently lost in the round of 16 at the Cotton Bowl SCMZ tournament to nationally ranked No.58 Dallas resident Tam Trinh.
The five star recruit’s shoe sponsor is Adidas and Head supplies his racquet and strings.
Nayrayna receives year-round instruction from Steve Bryan at King Daddy Sports which operates out of the Westheimer Indoor Tennis Club.
Bryan is a former NCAA champion at the University of Texas and played professionally.
Nayrayna chose Columbia over Cornell, Northwestern, Pennsylvania and Princeton.
He will be joined at Columbia next year by Katy Taylor girls standout Crystal Leung.
