HS girls basketball preview: Stratford v. Waller

District 17-4A rivals Stratford and Waller will battle in girls high school basketball action on Tuesday.

Stratford is 7-13 on the season and 3-1 in district play. The Spartans are coming off a close 49-48 win over Magnolia West on Friday.   

Junior forward Meredith Hohl is averaging 13.3 points a game to lead her team in scoring.

The Spartans will next host Brenham on Friday at 6 p.m.

Waller is 5-10 on the season and 2-2 in district play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 48-35 loss to Magnolia on Friday.

Junior Kayla Bell has 29 steals, 28 assists and 18 blocks to lead her team in all three categories.

The Bulldogs will next visit Magnolia West on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday’s tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
