Southern Indoor Football League tryouts to be held Saturday
The Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL) will hold a league combine in Houston on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 10 a.m.
Players will be weighed, measured and tested in the 40-yard dash (with 10/20 splits), the 5-10-5 short shuttle, the three-cone drill, standing broad jump and a 15-pound "powerball explosion.” Players also will participate in individual skill drills, positional drills and modified group work.
Kickers are welcome to participate and will be tested on kicking accuracy, height, length and on-sides kicks.
All results will be recorded, along with a detailed report written on each player, and will be sent to the SIFL database for use by all SIFL teams and coaches.
The combine will be held at Cullen Park, located at 19008 Samus Road.
Ring of Champions Showcase (ROCS) will administer the combine. ROCS is the only SIFL officially sanctioned organization to hold these combines. It consists of former National Football League, Canadian Football League and Arena Football League coaches.
