HS girls basketball: Memorial falls to Mayde Creek
Memorial fell to Mayde Creek in District 18-5A hoops action on Friday.
The Rams won the game 57-54, moving to 21-10 overall and 4-4 in district play.
Jazzmin Parker, a senior guard, had a terrific game; scoring 33 points. Mayde Creek will host Taylor on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Memorial Head Coach Jyusef Larry said “Jazzmin Parker was phenomenal tonight. She only got one true clean look at the basket and even with that she still scored 33. She's capable of doing that every night. We just have to do a better job of limiting teams on second chance opportunities, that's what really cost us the game tonight.’’
Friday’s loss dropped Memorial to 13-13 on the year and 6-2 in district games.
Ellen Anderson, a junior guard, scored 23 points in the defeat.
The Mustangs will visit Cinco Ranch on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
