HS girls basketball: Stratford defeats Magnolia
Stratford narrowly got by Magnolia 36-35 in District 17-4A high school girls basketball action on Tuesday.
It was back and forth all game, with things tied entering the last quarter. An 8-7 fourth helped Stratford escape with the victory.
The win ups Stratford to 10-15 on the season, including 6-3 in district play.
Johnesha Collins scored 12 points for the winning side.
Stratford will next host Spring Woods on Friday at 6 p.m.
The loss drops Mayde Creek to 21-11 on the season and 4-5 in district play.
Junior Ambra Davis scored 15 points in the loss.
Magnolia will next host Magnolia West on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
