HS girls basketball: Memorial drops one to Taylor
In a battle of Mustangs, Taylor defeated Memorial 51-30 in District 19-5A high school girls basketball action on Friday.
Memorial fell behind by 20 at the half and couldn’t do much to get back in the contest.
The win ups Taylor to 27-6 on the season and 8-1 in district play.
Junior Logan Johnson scored a game-high 16 points for the winning side. Senior Amanda Jugwirth added 15.
Taylor will next visit Cinco Ranch on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The loss drops Memorial to 13-15 on the season and 6-4 in district play.
Senior guard Kirby McDaniel scored 11 points in the loss.
Memorial will next host Katy on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
