Memorial-area company earns patent for file migration method
A company based in the Memorial area has received a patent for software that allows easier file sharing between computers.
According to the patent, the innovation by Enterprise Content Management Group (ECMG) makes file transfering easier among different content management systems various companies use to store their data.
Ernest F. Bahr of Houston, a principal with the company, is listed as the sole inventor of the new method. The patent was originally filed on April 30, 2008 and was approved on Feb. 1 of this year. Its official number is 7,882,110. The filers were represented in the process by Houston-based intellectual property law firm Osha Liang LLP, whose offices are located at Two Houston Center, 909 Fannin, Suite 3500. ECMG owns the patent.
Located at 5868 Westheimer Road, ECMG specializes in solutions for moving data between different computer systems, as well as between different institutions. Its clients are represented in the banking, utility, and oil and gas industries.
