Stratford alum Jake Miller sparks Baylor, again
Stratford High School graduate Jake Miller went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI as the Baylor Bears knocked off Dallas Baptist, 7-1, on Tuesday night at Baylor Ballpark.
Miller is batting .289 with 22 RBIs and one home run on the season.
Miller was ranked the 19th best prospect in Texas and 125th nationally by Perfect Game Cross Checker when he graduated from Stratford High School in 2009. He played shortstop for the Spartans for three seasons helping the squad to a bi-district title and appearance in the area finals as a sophomore, 2006-2007, and the state playoffs as a senior, 2008-2009. He was a three-time all-District 18-5A selection and posted a career line of a .338 batting average with 14 home runs, 88 RBIs, 27 doubles and 77 runs scored.
Miller played in the 2008 Texas Scout Association North-South All-Star Game and played twice in the houston 5A All-Star Game. He played two seasons on Team Texas and played in the area Code Games in Long Beach, Calif. The son of Todd and Jennifer Miller, he is a business major at Baylor.
