Memorial HS grad Koby Clemens does it all for RedHawks

Memorial High School graduate Koby Clemens went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, but the Fresno Grizzlies built an early 6-1 lead and held off a late rally for a win over the Oklahoma City Red Hawks  Monday night.

On the season, Clemens is batting .248 with five home runs and 24 RBIs.
 
The son of former Major League all-star and Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens, Koby is a 2005 graduate of Memorial High School and an eighth-round (254th overall) selection of his hometown Houston Astros in the 2005 Major League Baseball draft. From 2005 to 2010, Clemens appeared in 605 games in the Astros' system making it as high as Double-A Corpus Christi of the Texas League. Through 2010, Clemens was a career .270 hitter with 79 home runs and 378 RBI. In 2009, Clemens was named California League all-star catcher, high-A all-star DH and the Astros' minor league player of the year after hitting .345 with 45 doubles, six triples, 22 home runs and 121 RBIs for Lancaster. Clemens was born Dec. 4, 1986, in Houston.
