Memorial grad Koby Clemens knocks key run against New Orleans

Memorial High School graduate Koby Clemens went 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a walk, as the Oklahoma City Redhawks beat the New Orleans Zephyrs, 2-1, Monday.

On the season, Clemens, a first baseman, is batting .231 with 32 RBIs seven home runs and four stolen bases.

The son of former Major League all-star and Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens, he is a 2005 graduate of Memorial High School and an eighth-round (254th overall) selection of his hometown Houston Astros in the 2005 Major League Baseball draft.

In 2009, Clemens was named California League all-star catcher, high-A all-star DH and the Astros' minor league player of the year after hitting .345 with 45 doubles, six triples, 22 home runs and 121 RBIs for Lancaster. Clemens was born Dec. 4, 1986, in Houston.
