A lot of our kids were involved with club volleyball, and I had worked with many of them with summer strength and conditioning. The Wolves also are off to a fast start in District 20-5A, sweeping Carnegie Vanguard 25-7, 25-14, 25-12 to improve to 5-0 in league play. Westside features a top candidate for league most valuable player in senior Robyn Shannon The 5-foot-9 outside hitter is a four-year starter and returning first-team, all-district performer. Goodnight, the younger sister of former Westside football/baseball star Michael Goodnight, is a gifted volleyball player, although she is a middle blocker for her club team. Westside's main defensive specialists are 5-0 senior Yanelis Garcia and 5-3 sophomore Bailey Dunlap However, 5-6 freshman Aliyah Granger and 5-7 senior Annisa Peña have gotten plenty of playing time on the back row.
