Memorial residents sue homebuilder over doors, windows
Memorial residents are suing their homebuilder over claims the company installed defective doors and windows on their new home during construction.
Memorial residents Trevor and Shirley Jefferies filed a lawsuit on Jan. 5 in Harris County District Court against Dan Boylan and Boylan Construction Co., citing violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, fraud, breach of contract and negligence.
The Jefferieses say Boylan installed faulty doors when building their Gaywood Drive home in Memorial. According to the brief, these defective exterior glass doors and windows cost the Jefferieses more than $27,000, but Boylan refuses to replace them.
The Jefferieses are seeking damages, attorney’s fees and court costs. They are representing themselves in the case.
