GLO Certified Public Accountants, with offices in Montrose and Spring Branch, filed a lawsuit on Jan. 17 in Harris County District Court against Ronald Maldonado, citing fraud, violations of the Texas Theft Liability Act and breach of fiduciary duty.

The suit alleges that from January 2010 through August 2011, Maldonado used his position as chief internal accountant of GLO to embezzle more than $33,000 from the company. According to the brief, he used GLO money to pay for his personal medical expenses, gasoline and cell phones, among other things.

GLO is seeking actual damages, attorney’s fees and court costs. It is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Kevin Pennell.
