Memorial condo owners accused of code violations, unsafe conditions
A Memorial condominium owner is being sued over claims it is knowingly violating city ordinances.
The City of Houston filed a lawsuit on Jan. 24 in Harris County District against Dundrum, LLC, citing city code violations.
Houston says in June 2011, city officials found exposed electrical wire, sewage-contaminated common area, and other dangerous conditions while inspecting the 200-unit condominium complex owned by Dundrum, The Oaks of Brittany in Memorial.
Apparently, Dundrum has failed to remedy these conditions since August 2008, when it received 60 misdemeanor citations for unsafe code violations, according to the brief.
Houston is seeking injunctive relief and attorney’s fees. It is being represented in the case by city attorneys.
