West Briar Middle School Honey Bears drill team and CITGO collaborated on a literacy fundraiser to raise money to buy books for children in need.
West Briar Middle School Honey Bears drill team and CITGO collaborated on a literacy fundraiser designed to raise money for purchasing books for children in need.
Through January's "Be A Star, Buy A Star" program, the Honey Bears sold paper stars for $1 each at the Memorial CITGO station, at 14754 Memorial Drive, in Houston, with the proceeds used to buy books and make improvements to the HISD school library.
The campaign was sponsored by Susser Petroleum Company, a Houston-based CITGO marketer, and CITGO Petroleum Corporation.
According to a press release, the West Briar Middle School Honey Bears is a drill team whose members serve as role models by encouraging literacy and providing resources for children in need.
