Houston Metropolitan Dance Company announces staff changes
As its development of new studio space continues, the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company (The Met) is announcing a few staff changes.
Marlana Doyle has been named artistic director. She has been a company member for more than 11 years as dancer, liaison to the board of directors, company manager and managing director. She also expanded The Met’s repertory by researching and inviting renowned and emerging guest choreographers to work with the company.
On March 1, Rebecca Skupin Marcontell will step down as president of the board to join the staff of The Met as director of development and
board development.
Adam Walker will assume the role of president of the board.
The Met is currently developing a new studio for the company and school at 2808 Caroline St. The new space will feature four studios, ample parking, a restaurant, a dance store and rehearsal space available for the community to rent.
