Houston Fire Department responds to building blaze on South Voss

The Houston Fire Department responded to an automatic alarm at a building in the 2300 block of South Voss at approximately 11:20 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10.

Approximately 50 firefighters arrived on the scene within six minutes, finding light smoke in the atrium of the building. They discovered a fire in a small closet used for a computer server and miscellaneous storage. Firefighters extinguished the blaze at about 12:15 a.m.

The fire, which was contained to the closet, caused about $175,000 in damage. Houston Fire Department arson investigators determined that the computer server air-conditioning unit overheated and caught fire. No injuries were reported.
