John Paul II Catholic School students win essay contest
Students at John Paul II Catholic School recently won awards in an essay contest.
Fifth grader Yen Vo took first place in the University of St. Thomas Essay Contest for her essay, "Faith in Practice." Her essay was about her 14-year-old brother, who currently attends seminary school in Canada.
Eighth grader Stella Moger took third prize for her essay about her father.
Students in grades 3-12 chose to write on the topics "The Greatest Lesson I Have Ever Learned," "Someone Who Exemplifies Faith in Practice" or "Serving Others."
John Paul II Catholic School is a 2008 National Blue Ribbon Exemplary school and offers instruction to students from pre-kindergarten through grade 8.
