Career Day debuts at the Regis School
The Regis Middle School gave students a sneak peek into a diverse array of careers, from an ATF agent to a priest, with the school's Career Day debut on Jan. 30.
More than 15 industry experts and leaders spoke to students, sharing their education, qualifications and roles in the community.
Those who spoke were Jeff Adams, process improvement officer at National Oilwell Varco; Dr. Luis Camacho, oncologist; Thomas Castro, president and chief executive officer at El Dorado Capital; Marc Delpit, senior special agent, ATF; Judy Docherty, compliance officer specialist at Shell; Friar Jude Ekenedilichukwu, co-cathedral of the Sacred Heart; Art Fano, president at MCA Systems; Marcus Fryer SJ, English and theology faculty at Strake Jesuit; Daniel George, president at Manhattan Life Insurance Co.; George Heathco, composer and guitarist; Dr. Wesley Long, infectious diseases; Alex Luong, architect; Fisher Reynolds III, project manager at United Space Alliance; Matthew Schicke, managing director at America's Coal Trading; Nancy O. Taylor, Headmistress at The Regis School; and James Walsh, FBI agent.
"It was cool to let the boys hear about what other parents in school did," Student council President Matthew Leibold said. "It gave me an idea about the multiple career options I can choose from."
