Memorial software company accused of corporate theft

A software consulting company is suing over claims a Memorial-area competitor stole trade secrets and used unfair practices in an attempt to drive it out of business.

Miratech Holdings filed a lawsuit on Thursday, Feb. 23 in the Harris County District Court against Memorial company Datacert, citing misappropriation of trade secrets, tortious interference and unfair competition by misappropriation.

Miratech says that in 2011 and 2012, Datacert poached several of its key employees, who then provided Datacert with highly confidential and proprietary information. This security breach will damage Miratech’s leading edge in the business, according to the brief.

Miratech is seeking injunctive relief, damages, attorney’s fees and court costs. It is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Misty Blair.
