Houstonians challenged to conserve water, try to win car

The National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation offers water-conserving Houstonians a chance to win a Toyota Prius hybrid car.

Sponsored by the Wyland Foundation conservation nonprofit, the contest, which ends on April 30, provides an online forum for residents to make water and energy conservation pledges. Citizens in the region with the highest percentage of participants will win the challenge and a chance to win one of the many conservation-themed prizes offered by the foundation.

“Conserving one of our most precious resources will make a tremendous impact benefiting our environment, protecting our children’s future and saving Houstonians money,” said Mayor Annise Parker in a press release.
