Spring Branch ISD trustees elected to school board
Three Spring Branch ISD Board of Trustees members have won open positions as a result of Saturday’s school board election.
In a special election to complete the remaining term for Position two is current trustee Chris Gonzalez, who received 2,477 votes. Her challenger, Kelly Tronzo, got 1,286 votes. Gonzales had been appointed earlier to fill Mary Grace Landrum’s remaining term.
In the regular election for Position Three, former educator and PTA President Katherine Dawson won the seat with 2,760 votes. She was opposed by Kay Overly Peeples, who received 879 votes, and Eric Charles Waligura, who garnered 143 votes. This position was held by Theresa Kosmoski, who is retiring after serving nine years on the board.
In Position Four, Chris Vierra ran unopposed and received 2,850 votes. Chris replaces Board President Susan Kellner, who is also retiring after serving nine years.
The results of this election will be canvassed and certified during a special Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, May 22.
All school board members serve without pay.
