Memorial alum impressive in River Cats loss
Graham H. Godfrey, a 2003 graduate of Memorial High School, yielded just one run in eight innings but his Sacramento River Cats fell to the Fresno Grizzlies 2-1 in minor league baseball action on Thursday.
After dominating in high school, Godfrey played baseball for the College of Charleston, going 8-2 with 101 Ks and a 3.57 ERA in 16 games as a junior.
He was drafted in the 34th round, 1,020th overall, by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2006 Major League Baseball draft.
