Houston Christian alum drives one home in San Jose loss
Ryan Lollis, a 2005 graduate of Houston Christian High School, drove in a run but watched as the San Jose Giants fell to Bakersfield 7-4 in minor league baseball action on Thursday.
After dominating in high school, Lollis was drafted in the 20th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2005 Major League Baseball draft, but opted to go to the University of Missouri instead.
In college, Lollis appeared in 217 games, batting .309 with nine home runs and 164 RBI.
After college, Lollis was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 37th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball draft.
He began his pro career in 2009 appearing in 52 games for Salem-Kaizer of the Northwest League, hitting .312.
