Houston Christian alum impressive in San Jose Giants loss
Ryan Lollis, a 2005 graduate of Houston Christian High School reached base twice but the San Jose Giants fell 10-6 to the Lancaster Jet Hawks in minor league baseball action on Tuesday.
With his two walks, Lollis scored a run and drove in another in the loss.
Lollis was a 20th-round selection, 601st overall, of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2005 Major League Baseball draft.
Instead, Lollis accepted a baseball scholarship to the University of Missouri where he appeared in 217 games over four seasons, batting .309 with nine home runs and 164 RBI.
In 2009, he was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 37th round, 1,107th overall, and began his pro career with the Salem-Kaizer of the Northwest League.
