Memorial Wal-Mart store named in slip-and-fall suit
Wal-Mart is being sued over claims it failed to offer customers a safe shopping environment at its Memorial-area location.
Laura Cervantez filed a lawsuit on Friday, June 8 in the Harris County District Court against Wal-Mart Stores and Wal-Mart store manager Stephen Rodriguez, citing negligence.
Cervantez says on Aug. 22, 2010, she sustained serious injuries while shopping at Wal-Mart, located at 2727 Dunvale Road in Memorial. According to the brief, she fell when she stepped into a slippery substance left carelessly on the floor.
Cervantez is seeking damages and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Houston attorney James Lassiter III.
