Ahrens strikes out two, drives in two in Blue Jays' win over Clearwater
Dunedin Blue Jays pitcher Kevin James Ahrens drove in two runs on a hit and allowed a hit, a run and struck out two in two innings of work in an 8-3 win over the Clearwater Threshers on Sunday, June 10.
A 2007 graduate of Memorial High School, Ahrens was named a first-team high school all-American left fielder as a senior and was the 16th pick in the first-round by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2007 Major League Baseball draft.
Named the Blue Jays' third-best prospect in 2008 and the sixth best in 2009 by Baseball America, Ahrens is a career .239 hitter with 21 home runs and 142 RBI. He was born April 26, 1989, in Houston.
