Memorial alum comes up big in River Cats win
Graham H. Godfrey, a 2003 graduate of Memorial High School, allowed just one run in eight innings to pick up the win as the Sacramento River Cats defeated the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 8-2 in minor league baseball action on Sunday.
Godfrey struck out two batters in the game and allowed just two hits.
After a standout high school career, Godfrey played baseball for the College of Charleston, where he went 8-2 with 101 Ks and a 3.57 ERA in 16 games as a junior.
He was drafted in the 34th round, 1,020th overall, of the 2006 Major League Baseball draft by the Toronto Blue Jays.
