Houston Christian alum leads San Jose to victory

Ryan Lollis, a 2005 graduate of Houston Christian, collected four hits to lead the San Jose Giants to a 14-2 rout over the Inland Empire 66 in minor league baseball action on Tuesday.

He also scored two runs and plated one in six at-bats in the win.

Lollis was a 20th-round selection, 601st overall, of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2005 Major League Baseball draft, but opted to accept a baseball scholarship to the University of Missouri. In a 217-game college career, Lollis hit .309 with nine home runs and 164 RBI.

He was drafted in 2009 by the San Francisco Giants, who took him in the 37th round, 1,107th overall, and began his pro career in 2009 appearing in 52 games for Salem-Kaizer of the Northwest League.
