Local iron workers demand safer workplace
Friday afternoon, June 15 as many as 70 iron workers from Iron Workers Local Union 847 went back to the worksite where they walked off on Monday, June 11 and demanded that D'Ambra Steel adhere to improved safety and health standards to prevent death and injury at the worksite.
To date, D'Ambra has only responded with threats to bring in replacement workers from Dallas, Oklahoma and other places instead of ensuring that its workers have a safe place to continue their work.
The striking workers traveled by caravan from the Union Hall in Houston to the worksite in Spring.
