Energy Ventures' vice president announces retirement

Robert Schwartz has announced his retirement after six years with Energy Ventures.

Schwartz has served as vice president and senior adviser with Energy Ventures, an independent venture capital firm that funds high-growth upstream oil and gas technology companies.

During this time, Schwartz played an integral role in establishing the company’s Houston office in late 2007. The office was the first of many steps contributing to the growth of Energy Ventures’ presence in the United States.

“Bob has been a vital member of our team for many years and his industry knowledge has been invaluable to the firm and its portfolio companies,” said Jim Sledzik, partner and president of Energy Ventures Houston, in a press release. “He will always be a part of the Energy Ventures family and we are grateful for all of his contributions.”

During his retirement, Schwartz plans to work with private clients, continue serving on several boards and devote more time to his passion for photography.

Energy Ventures manages and advises four oil and gas venture funds with a combined capital base of $750 million. Energy Ventures is headquartered in Stavanger, Norway, with offices in Aberdeen, United Kingdom and Houston.
