Eagle's Trace awards student scholars
Eagle’s Trace retirement community announced the seven recipients of its 2012 Student Scholars Awards during a June ceremony.
The winners are Ambresha Bennett, George Coreas, Albert Itauma, Bryan Machado, Leonel Najera, Veronica Romero and Jackie Vanoye.
Each recipient will receive $1,000 per year for a four-year total of $4,000, paid to his higher learning institution.
In addition to currently being enrolled in college or high school, each scholar also is employed by the dining services department of the Erickson Living retirement community.
Eagle’s Trace started the program to thank students for their hard work and dedication to the retirement community. Since the inception of the scholarship program in 2007, more than $259,000 has been raised.
To qualify, a student must work 1,000 hours and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
