Two runners from Spring Branch complete Nolen Vargas Scholarship 5K
Two runners from Spring Branch completed the Nolen Vargas Scholarship 5K on Saturday, June 30 in New Braunfels.
John Justis, 64, completed the race in 36:55, and Robin Justis, 41, crossed the finish line in 43:41.
A total of 281 runners finished the 5K race. The race was held in memory of Nolen Vargas, a member of the Canyon High School Cross Country and Track teams.
The race was sponsored by the Canyon Cross Country team and the New Braunfels Running Club. Matt Miller, of Cypress, was the men’s overall winner with a time of 16:34, while Sarah Boatright, of New Braunfels, was the women’s winner in 20:07.
