Monarch Institute supports autism-friendly theater performance
An autism-friendly production of "The Lion King" will be performed at 2 p.m. July 28 at The Hobby Center, located at 800 Bagby St., in Houston.
Presented by the Monarch Institute, the performance will be the first autism-friendly staging of a Broadway show in Houston, according to a press release. It is part of the of The Hobby Center's Lion King Autism Theatre Initiative, which is designed to make theater accessible for children on the autism spectrum and the children’s families.
According to the theater's website, the performance will offer accommodations such as a supportive audience environment, designated quiet areas, light and adjustments to light and sound.
Tickets cost $24.50-$59.50 and can be purchased at the theater's box office, by calling 713-315-2580 or online at www.thehobbycenter.org.
