City of Houston initiates polystyrene foam recycling
Houston residents now have the option to recycle polystyrene foam products at the Westpark Recycling Center.
Clean polystyrene foam taken to the center will be compacted and recycled for reuse by a certified recycling partner. The foam will be delivered to businesses that create products using recycled plastics.
Total Petrochemicals & Refining USA donated a Polymax 1500 polystyrene foam compactor to the city of Houston to help with recycling efforts. The compactor reduces the size of the recycled polystyrene products for easier transportation and recycling.
The Westpark Consumer Recycling Center is located at 5900 Westpark. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
