The Houston Arboretum and Nature Center is hosting Sensing Nature summer camp for children ages 5 to 12 from July 30 through Aug. 3.
The camp will let kids explore the wonders of sensory perception. Some animals taste through their feet, some have built-in radar. Some can locate prey by sensing heat. And one has an eye that contains 30,000 lenses.
Under staff supervision, children will discover which animals can do all of this and more while partaking in indoor and outdoor activities at the 155-acre nature sanctuary.
The camp will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 30 to Aug. 3. The cost is $265 for members and $325 for non-members. There is a morning-only camp option from 9 a.m. to noon that is $140 for members and $180 for non-members.
To register, visit www.houstonarboretum.org/event/summer-camp-sensing-nature.
The Houston Arboretum and Nature Center is located at 4501 Woodway Drive, in Houston.
