Second Baptist grad Seaton helps Corpus Christi to win
Second Baptist High School graduate Ross Seaton pitched seven innings as the Corpus Christi Hooks beat the Frisco Rough Riders 8-7 Thursday, July 12.
Seaton earned a no-decision when the Hooks' bullpen couldn't hold the lead after he threw seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits. Seaton struck out four batters and only walked two.
On the season, Seaton is 6-5 with an ERA of 3.54.
Seaton is a 2008 graduate of Second Baptist High School and a third-round selection (109th overall) in the 2008 Major League Baseball draft by the Houston Astros. He began his pro career in 2008 pitching in three games for Greenville, Houston's rookie team in the Appalachian League. Seaton posted a 13.50 ERA in four innings.
He spent 2010 with Lancaster of the California League (advanced single-A) making 28 starts and logging a 6-13 mark with a 6.64 ERA.
Seaton was born Sept. 18, 1989, in Sugar Land.
