Spring Branch Presbyterian to host sewing event Sept. 8
Volunteers and materials are needed for this year’s annual Dress a Girl Around the World event.
This is the third year for the sewing event, hosted by the Spring Branch Presbyterian Church, which, with the help of volunteers, makes dresses from pillow cases and other materials to be donated to underprivileged children around the world.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, volunteers will craft the dresses at the Gathering Place, behind the church's fellowship hall.
There is a container for donations at the church office, located at 1215 Campbell Road in Spring Branch. Requested items include material, thread, elastic, rick rack and extra-wide double-fold bias tape. Sewing machines and cutters are also needed for the day of the event.
Lunch and drinks will be provided for all volunteers.
