Spring Branch Presbyterian Church to host 'Sock it to MAM' during August
Spring Branch Presbyterian Church plans to collect new underwear and white socks for the Sock-it-to-MAM collection throughout the month of August.
These items are all given to SBISD school children in low income schools. Items are distributed through both the school nurses and the CIS workers.
Donated socks must be white because many schools require uniforms with white socks as part of that dress code.
To donate, bring items to the box near the church office before Sunday, Aug. 19, or take donations directly to Memorial Assistance Ministries in August.
Monetary donations earmarked for "Back to School" will also be accepted. These will be used to help MAM provide vouchers for parents to purchase uniforms at local stores.
MAM's goal is to help 5,000 students this year. Last year, it was 4,500.
