Houston Christian grad Lollis helps Fresno stop Nashville
Houston Christian High School graduate Ryan Lollis helped the Fresno Grizzlies beat the Nashville Sounds 9-1 in Pacific Coast League action Aug. 4.
Lollis went 2-for-3 with a walk in the victory.
On the season, Lollis is batting .341 with two home runs and 15 RBIs.
Lollis is a 2005 graduate of Houston Christian and a 20th-round selection (601st overall) of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2005 Major League Baseball draft.
Lollis did not sign with the Pirates and accepted a baseball scholarship to the University of Missouri. He appeared in 217 games over four seasons (2006 to 2009) for the Tigers batting .309 with nine home runs and 164 RBIs.
Lollis was a first team all-state selection as a senior at Houston Christian High School and earned second team All-State honors as a junior. Houston Christian High School won the Texas Championship his senior season and was ranked No. 4 in the nation by USA Today.
Born in Houston, Lollis is the son of Steve and Leslie Lollis.
